Checking metrics is important to make sure you are making progress.
Are you tracking your training?
When it comes to your goals it is important to track the necessary metrics based on the goal.
If you are strength training, tracking your training sessions is probably going to be valuable and show you that you are making progress in the right direction.
It also is very useful if you are training in a different facility and using different equipment. You can look back to see if you are using the same effort, even tho the equipment is different.
