The Issue with the Holidays.

The Issue with The Holidays.

People experience so Much guilt with the holidays.

The Holidays are such an exciting and cheerful time. They are meant to be shared and enjoyed with loved ones.

But there is an problem with the holidays and something that needs to be mentioned…

The issue with the holidays is….

SO MANY PEOPLE ARE AFRAID TO ENJOY THEM!

There, I said it. There is nothing wrong with the holidays except for the fact that people are so afraid to enjoy them in fear that they will completely ruin all of their progress.

This does not need to be the case, and should not be the case.

The Holidays are a time where people share family traditions and create memories that they remember forever.

For example:

Let’s say your family has a tradition that they do year after year, this tradition is decorating the Christmas tree while drinking rum and egg nog together. If you are petrified to drink the egg nog because you think it will throw away all of your progress, well… you are missing out on a big (although it may seem small) component of your family’s tradition.

One glass of egg nog is not going to throw you off the edge. This is not necessary and is ruining the holiday fun for you!

A few days that include eating a little bit more and not making it to the gym like you planned is not the end of the world.

Yes, there are things you can do to mitigate what is done over the Holidays. Get your protein in and do your best to be as mindful as you can. Enjoy things in moderation and you’ll be fine.

On the flip side, if you made absolutely no change to what you are currently doing and simply ate more than normal, you would still be FINE!

What is done is done, don’t dwell on the past and return back to your normal routine post-holiday fun!

Enjoy the holidays, enjoy a few hundred extra kcals.

I promise you that it is not the end of the world. Enjoy this time and enjoy a cookie or two as well :)

Happy Holidays Everyone!
