Meal plans.
Meal plans.
What happens after the meal plan?
Meal plans are used far too often, in my humble opinion.
When someone is looking at reaching their goals, they may have tried on their own and struggled so they will reach out to a coach/trainer.
The nutrition aspect of coaching can be a finicky one. Coaching someone and teaching them new skills and tools to start implementing into their lives takes time. There will be road bumps as there is a learning curve and it takes time. It takes time to change your old habits and implement new ones.
This can be frustrating for the individual who reached out to the coach searching for help because they want to see results quickly.
Sometimes a coach will just give their client a meal plan.
If this is the case, hopefully the meal plan is one specific to them.
The meal plan takes away all the variables of the clients food choices as they are still learning new nutrition skills.
BUT…
What happens after the meal plan and you are back to eating as you did prior? You most likely will slide backwards with your progress.
You might ask, why is this the case?
Well, if you are following a meal plan you most likely are reaching certain nutrition targets that have been designed for you and your goals. Once you return back to your old habits you are paying no attention to these targets.
Meal plans are not sustainable for the rest of your life.
When you implement lifestyle changes and learn the why behind your nutrition protocols you will be MILES ahead, make progress, and maintain the progress you have made.
Meal plans are not sustainable long term.
